I was born and raised in Merced, California, two hours east of San Francisco. I am the fifth of seven children. We grew up in a wonderful old house in a neighborhood filled with children. Our house was the neighborhood hub of activity, with regular games of kickball and football, hide and seek, skating and hopscotch. I can still hear the slam of the front screen door as the kids went in and out of the house! I began babysitting neighbors’ children at a young age and discovered that I loved small children! I was enthusiastic, athletic, musical, and always coming up with something new and interesting to do. All of these characteristics have carried over into my adult life.
I gave my life to Jesus Christ when I was 20 years old, and by His grace I have walked faithfully with Him ever since! I have a great love of Scripture, which I strive to pass on to my students through class study and memorization. I have been married to Mike for 28 years, and we have three children and two grandchildren. Norfolk has been our home for 25 years. Go Huskers!

What a privilege to guide children to fluency in reading and mastery in writing! It is so rewarding to watch the children’s confidence grow as they master math skills, to watch their faces fill with wonder as their world is expanded through science and social studies! I am athletic and musical, and I love incorporating both in our classroom. I am loving and relational, and I believe that when students know their teacher loves them and is for them, that it sets up an invaluable foundation for learning. My goal is that every child that leaves my classroom will be exceptionally prepared for the next grade, and will know without a doubt that they were accepted, valued, known, and loved!
