Kindergarten is time to get serious about education while still setting the tone and foundation for long-term learning. Kindergarten is a key training year as students become accustomed to a more structured environment. Creative implementation of the Saxon Phonics Reading Curriculum and the Daily 5 is evidenced by the kindergarteners reading by the end of 1st semester. Success in this classroom breeds motivation and more success! The kindergarten teacher, Liz Baber, teaches through themes, integrated units, projects, and other hands-on learning experiences to bring out the “active learner” in all children. The spiritual focus in kindergarten identifies what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus and developing character through consistency of training.
