Kindergarten is a key training year as students become accustomed to a more structured environment. Kindergarten is a time to become more serious about education while still setting a joyful and positive tone and an outstanding foundation for long-term learning. The spiritual focus in Kindergarten identifies what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus and developing character through consistency of training.
The “Saxon Phonics Reading Curriculum” and the “Daily 5” are utilized and result in most Kindergarteners being able to read by the end of the 1st semester. Success in the Kindergarten classroom breeds motivation and more success! The Kindergarten teacher, Skyler Cahill, teaches through themes, integrated units, projects, and other hands-on learning experiences to bring out the “active learner” in each child.
