Carolyn Miller, the former kindergarten homeroom teacher and now grades 1 – 3 homeroom teacher, has an extensive and varied approach to education. She attended college at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California and then taught in a state run preschool and a Christian school prior to moving to Nebraska.
In Nebraska, Carolyn worked as a paraprofessional and substitute teacher in the Norfolk Public Schools. She taught an afterschool Bible Club for 11 years that served public school students. She came to Keystone Christian Academy in the Fall of 2008 to be a paraprofessional in grades K-3 and to teach the K-4th grade Bible Class. In 2015, Carolyn obtained a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Inclusive B-3 from Wayne State College.
She has nearly completed a degree in Special Education and has set her sites on a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education. Carolyn trains character in young children through steady and consistent instruction and mentoring. Her classroom exhibits a wonderful balance of reading, writing, math, and science. She loves to lead her students down the path of discovery!
Passionate for the Word, she passes this love of Scripture to her young learners in her Bible Class. Her creativity, implementation of movement, hands-on activities, and organization make her classroom a bright and welcome place of learning and excitement. This next year Carolyn will bring all her experience towards reshaping grades 1 – 3 as that homeroom teacher.
She also has her own website dedicated to her class located at https://mrsmillerskinders.wordpress.com/
